Before you sell

When you request a quote you are confirming all of the following.

  • You are the legal owner of the device.
  • You have the full legal right to sell it.
  • The device has not been stolen, lost, or obtained illegally.
  • Everything you tell us is accurate and truthful.
  • The device is free of any financial obligation that would prevent a legal sale.

Before a purchase is completed we verify the device. To be eligible:

  • The IMEI or serial number must be clean.
  • The device cannot be reported as lost or stolen.
  • Activation Lock (Find My iPhone or iCloud Lock) must be removed before payment.
  • The device must match the description provided during the quote process.

Platinum Tech reserves the right to refuse the purchase of any device that does not meet these requirements or that raises ownership or security concerns.

Policies

Selling by mail

Mail-in works the same way as walking in, with one extra step. We agree on a quote first, you ship the device with tracking, and we inspect it the day it arrives. Payment is issued only after the device has been received, inspected, and verified to match the information you submitted. If the condition differs from your description, we send a revised offer before completing the purchase, and you can say no.

Read the mail-in policy

  1. Get your quote and confirm you want to ship.
  2. Back up your data and sign out of iCloud so Activation Lock is removed.
  3. Pack the device well and ship it with tracking.
  4. We inspect on arrival and confirm the final offer.
  5. You get paid by Zelle, Square, or cash on pickup.

Get more for your device

Back up your data first. Once a device sells, the data is gone.

Sign out of iCloud and turn off Find My so Activation Lock is removed.

Bring the charger, cable, and box if you still have them.

Clean the device. It sounds small, and it helps.
